Website voice assistant

AI voice assistant for your website

Visitors leave a website when they cannot find an answer quickly, and few of them fill in a contact form. For businesses that want visitors to talk to them rather than fill in a form. Wixzel Voice makes an agent from your website, with a knowledge base from your pages and an animated mascot in your brand colour, and puts it in the corner of your site with one script tag. Visitors tap Call and talk to it in the browser, with no phone line and no app. You choose who may call, see roughly where each caller was and on what device, block anyone, and cap the public minutes a day. Each call is billed per second from your prepaid balance, like a call on the same engine.

How do you build an AI voice assistant for a website with Wixzel Voice?

  1. 01
    POST /v1/agents/generate

Give it your website and a role, such as receptionist. It answers at once with a working agent, then writes the prompt, builds a knowledge base from your pages and draws a mascot in your brand colour, usually in under a minute. Generating is not charged. In the console it is New agent, From your website.

  2. 02
    PATCH /v1/agents/{id}/mascot

Turn on sharing: embed for the website widget, with your site in embed_origins; link for a share page at voice.wixzel.com/m?id=…; caller_info for who can call (none, contact or google); and the caps. Needs the agents:write and calls:write scopes.

  3. 03
    <script src="https://voice.wixzel.com/embed.js" data-mascot="m_…" async>

One line on your site. The widget waits in the corner; a visitor taps Call, allows the microphone and talks to the agent, whose mascot moves its mouth with the voice. It will not run on a site that is not in embed_origins.

  4. 04
    GET /v1/callers

Who called: approximate city, region and country from the IP address (stored only as a hash), browser, operating system, device and the page. With caller_info set, also the name and contact they typed or their Google name and email. PATCH /v1/callers/{id} with blocked: true blocks one.

  5. 05
    GET /v1/calls?caller_id=…

Every widget call is a call record with its transcript, duration and cost, and the same callCompleted webhook as a phone call.

Which voice engine fits a voice assistant on a website?

Use the gemini-live engine on Wixzel Voice, at $0.0491 per connected minute. An agent made from a website starts on Gemini Live: one realtime model listens, thinks and speaks, so replies come quickly, and it is the cheapest engine per minute. Switch to sarvam when your visitors speak Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam or another Indian language.

What does a voice assistant on a website cost on Wixzel Voice?

Wixzel Voice engine time for 3-minute sessions on the gemini-live engine, at typical speech rates, billed per second of actual usage. There is no telephony cost, because there is no phone line, so shorter sessions cost proportionally less.

300900$44.19
1,5004,500$221

Prepaid: add credit from $5 and the sessions spend it. Estimate your own mix.

Which guides show how to build an AI voice assistant for a website on Wixzel Voice?

Frequently asked questions

How do I add an AI voice assistant to my website with Wixzel Voice?

Make an agent from your website in the console (New agent, From your website) or with POST /v1/agents/generate. On the agent's Mascot tab, turn on the website widget and list your site's origins, then paste the script tag it gives you: <script src="https://voice.wixzel.com/embed.js" data-mascot="m_…" async></script>. Visitors tap Call and talk to the agent in their browser.

Do visitors need an app, an account or a phone?

No. They talk in the browser with their microphone. If you set caller_info to google they sign in with Google first, which only tells you who they are and never creates a Wixzel account for them. With contact they type a name and a phone number or email. With none, the default, they just tap Call.

Can someone copy my widget onto another site and spend my credit?

No. The widget only starts calls from the origins you list in embed_origins, and the session it opens is tied to that page. The share link and the widget also stay inside the caps on the agent: 300 seconds a call, 60 public minutes a day, 3 calls per visitor a day and 2 at once by default. You can change all four, turn sharing off, or rotate the public id so the old link and embed code stop working at once.

What do I learn about the people who call?

Each web call records an approximate location (city, region and country, from the IP address, which is kept only as a hash), the browser, operating system and device type, and the page the caller was on. A random id kept in their browser groups one person's calls together. There is no fingerprinting, and the widget tells callers what is shared with you. Inbound phone calls to the same agent show the number.

Can I block a caller?

Yes. Choose Block on the caller's card in the console, or send PATCH /v1/callers/{id} with {"blocked": true}. A blocked caller cannot call that agent again from the widget, the share link, the app or by phone.

Can the assistant do things on my page?

Yes, with client tools. Create a client tool for the agent, such as open_page, and register what it does on your page through window.WixzelMascot.tools before or after the script loads. The agent calls it during the conversation and hears back what your handler returned. Webhook tools call your server instead.

What does a website voice assistant cost?

The same as a call on the agent's engine, billed per second from your prepaid balance: $0.0491 per connected minute on gemini-live, about 0.15 dollars for a three-minute conversation. There is no phone line to pay for and no fee for the widget or the share link. Making the agent and its mascot from your website is not charged.

Can I change how the mascot looks?

Yes. A mascot is one shape, a colour, two eyes and a personality, described by a small JSON spec. Change it on the Mascot tab or with PATCH /v1/agents/{id}/mascot, or generate a new look from a website or a description with POST /v1/agents/{id}/mascot/generate. The agent's prompt does not change when its look does.

What else do developers build on Wixzel Voice?

Appointment booking

Build an agent that answers the phone, checks availability and books an appointment, over your own SIP trunk, with the booking written back through the API.

Outbound lead qualification

Upload leads, start a campaign, and have an agent call each one over your own SIP trunk and ask your qualifying questions. Every call is a record with its status and transcript, linked to the lead.

Inbound support line

Answer a support number with an agent that reads from a knowledge base you upload, handles the common questions, and leaves a transcript of every call.

Indian languages

Run phone agents in Indian languages on models built for them, with the sarvam engine covering speech-to-text, the language model and text-to-speech end to end.

Web and mobile apps

Put an agent in a browser page, a Flutter app or a kiosk with no SIP trunk and no phone number: your server mints a one-minute session, the app streams audio over a WebSocket, and the session is billed like a call.

Phone calls from AI agents

Connect Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any MCP client to your account, and let an AI agent connect a carrier, build a voice agent, place calls, run campaigns and read transcripts, with every tool that spends money asking first.

Low-cost AI calling

Run AI phone calls for a few cents a minute: per-second billing from prepaid credit, no subscription or minimum, your own SIP trunk with no telephony markup, and every charge itemised.

Talking AI avatar

Give a voice agent a face: an animated avatar that lip-syncs to the agent, for a website, a share link, a web app or a Flutter app, with no fee for the avatar.
